Message from the Principal

Greetings Parents, Guardians, and Families of Central Elementary School,

I am grateful and honored to have the opportunity to serve in our community as Principal of Central Elementary School. Central is an amazing school with wonderful students, parents, and staff; we are supported by a great community. I am very thankful for the opportunity to serve and help nurture the social and emotional needs of our students, witnessing their many accomplishments throughout their academic journey here at Central.

It is our goal to always foster a school culture where learning is visible, a term referred to as “Visible Learning”, where our teachers see learning through the eyes of students and provide students with the tools to take ownership of their learning. We want to nurture the concept of being life-long learners for all students at Central Elementary. To accomplish this, we need help from our parents and community in several ways. You are your child’s first teacher, and we would love to have you involved on campus. Our Parent Community Involvement Coordinator organizes volunteer support and can provide you with more insight into the available options parents have to be more actively involved in their child’s academic journey at Central Elementary. Please feel free to reach out to us by contacting either your child’s teacher or our office to inquire about how you can become more involved on campus. We would love to have you!

Again, it is our goal to help all students become Visible Learners, because we know when learning becomes visible, students know what to do, why they are doing it, and they know how to do it. When families and schools work together, our students benefit in astounding ways! I look forward to working together with you all to create the BEST school experience possible for our students. Together we are stronger. Together we accomplish greatness!

Principal's Initiatives

Reading Initiative
Read, read, read, read….research is very clear that the more a student reads, the better a reader he or she will become.  It is our goal to help all of our students become excellent readers through exceptional reading instruction in each classroom and nightly practice through our Reading Initiative Program.  Each teacher requires at least 20 minutes of reading each night as a regular part of your student’s homework.  Students can read aloud to their parents, siblings, or other family members or younger children can have their favorite book read to them.  Please log the amount of time your child reads nightly on the teacher provided reading log and send it to school with your student at the end of each month.  Our PTO supports this program by awarding each teacher with $50 to spend on their classroom each month they have 100% of their reading logs returned.  Help your child become a better reader and support your child’s classroom by making sure your child reads 20 minutes nightly and turns in his or her completed log each month.
