Mrs. Bravo

Hello Cougar Cub Families!

My name is Maria Bravo and I am the School Counselor at Central Elementary School. This year, my focus is to provide our students with the building blocks they will need to become confident, creative and self-motivated life-long learners.

Our school counseling services will address the academic, personal/social and college/career development of all students through individual, small group and school wide programs. Through these comprehensive services, the school counseling program will assist our children to reach their highest potential by allowing them to apply new skills that will encourage positive behavior, healthy relationships and academic success.

School-wide Activities Encourage:

Increased Attendance: We encourage students to arrive to school on time every day! Students that attend school every day and on time are more likely to feel mentally and physically ready to learn, feel more confident, are more academically invested and have a positive perception of their academic development and achievements. To encourage school attendance we reward our Cougar Cubs with monthly incentives and classroom attendance parties!

Character Education - We believe that introducing our students to character education will prepare them to become self-aware of how they are personally, emotionally and socially engaged with themselves and their peers. Character education is encouraged through monthly activities such as Kindness Week and Anything Can Happen Activity Days!

College Mentality - It's never too early to start talking to our students about their college and career goals. This year, we hope to introduce our Cougar Cubs to what college is and how the choices and habits they develop now can contribute to their future goals.
